For critique 1, I brought in some wall-mounted mixed media shadow boxes based on the map theme.  I also showed two panorama kaleidoscope prints on canvas and some oil fire smoke paintings.

Feedback was generally about focus and narrowing subject matter.  Also important was how the work is read as opposed to how I experience it.  The wood reads more crafty because it does not express its true origins as  Oso Pier hurricane debris.  Greg brought up a point that fear of focus and concentration may be due to fear of failure.

I valued the questioning of each body of work because it helped me decide which had more potential for my attention.  The paintings of smoke were my most personally felt imagery and painting the most attractive process.

Upon reflection for a few days.  I found that the smoke imagery had some psychological metaphor that would allow me to explore emotional art making without intense analytical thinking.
